Haulage Visibility Constraints
You can use visibility tools to make it easier to view haulage routes in the 3D Canvas. These tools constrain the display of data on the canvas, so you see only the haulage routes in which you are interested.
The visibility constraints tools are available in a toolbar at the top of the 3D Canvas.
The visibility constraints tools work by process of elimination. If data is not included in the selection, it is displayed in white on the 3D Canvas and cannot be selected. Visibility constraints are cumulative. If you apply one constraint and then apply a second constraint, the data that remains in the 3D Canvas must meet both constraint conditions.
The visibility constraints you create persist while the scenario remains open. As long as the scenario is open, you can use the Previous constraint and Next constraint icons to move between constraints.
Note: All visibility constraints are stored in the same sequence. If you create a visibility constrain in the Haulage Results tab which does not change the data displayed in the Locations tab (for example, a constraint based on the period range), when you move to this constraint using the Previous constraint or Next constraint buttons, you will not see a change in the data displayed in the 3D Canvas.
You can set visibility constraints based on haul route name, source location, destination location, material, and period range.
Tip: To redisplay all haulage routes, click the Clear all constraints icon.
Constrain Using Name
To constrain the data using names, you can type a name in the Visibility Constraints field.
Tip: You can use wildcards in the constraint to select groups of names.
Constrain Using Box Selection
To constrain the data using box selection, you can click the Box constraint icon and then drag to create a selection box in the 3D Canvas. Any haulage routes that are partly or completely in the selection box remain displayed, and the 3D Canvas mode returns to Orbit mode.
Note: If you choose the Box constraint icon by double-clicking, after the selection box is applied the box constraint function stays active. When the box constraint function remains active, you can immediately create another selection box to apply an additional constraint. To exit the box constraint function you can click Orbit or Select mode, or press ESC.
Constrain Using Haul Route Name, Source Location, Destination Location, Material, or Period Range
To constrain the data based on the haul route name, source location, destination location, material, and period range, you can click the Ellipsis icon. Clicking the Ellipsis icon opens the Haulage Visibility Constraints form.
Fields on the Haulage Visibility Constraints form
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Haulage routes |
The names of the haulage routes. Only haulage routes with the specified name, or name root if you are using wildcards, are displayed in the 3D Canvas. The list provides a quick selection of the haulage route names in the haulage results. The Ellipsis button opens the Wildcard Expression Builder. |
| Haulage sources |
The names of the haulage source locations. Only haulage routes that have a source with the specified name, or name root if you are using wildcards, are displayed in the 3D Canvas. The list provides a quick selection of the haulage source names. The Ellipsis button opens the Wildcard Expression Builder. |
| Haulage destinations |
The names of the haulage destination locations. Only haulage routes that have a destination with the specified name, or name root if you are using wildcards, are displayed in the 3D Canvas. The list provides a quick selection of the haulage destination names. The Ellipsis button opens the Wildcard Expression Builder. |
| Hauled materials |
The names of the material classes. Only haulage routes that are used to move materials with the specified name, or name root if you are using wildcards, are displayed in the 3D Canvas. The list provides a quick selection of the material classes. The Ellipsis button opens the Wildcard Expression Builder. |
| Period range | |
| Start |
The first period included in the constraint. Only haulage routes that are used from this period to the End period are displayed in the 3D Canvas. |
| Slider |
A graphical tool that you can use to define the periods used in the constraint. When you move the ends of the slider, the values for the Start and End periods are updated. |
| End |
The last period included in the constraint. Only haulage routes that are used from the Start period to this period are displayed in the 3D Canvas. |
| Reset period range | Resets the Start value, End value, and Slider position to encompass all periods. |
